Latest Update on Dr. McElwee! Hi everyone, Dr. Kevin McElwee is a research immunologist and a dermatologist from Germany who specializes in the pathogenesis of alopecia areata. He set off a firestorm in the hairloss community when he performed a HM study that showed existing follicles are capable of taking up cultured dermal cells that are injected into the skin, and these cells cause existing follicles with miniature hairs (similar to those in male pattern baldness) to grow thick hair.
